The Department has an association, English and Cultural Studies Association (ECSA) under whose aegis many creative and innovative literary and cultural activities are organised throughout the academic year.
Apart from the regular classes, we also conduct experiential learning based activities and discussions for our students such as heritage walks, museum visits, extension activities, etc., which we believe will help to impart important values of life in our students.
The department promotes an intellectual climate of critical and creative ideation by inculcating among its students the habit of a critical reading of the word and the world alike. It has geared its academic engagements towards molding students into responsible and socially sensitive citizens through programs that are designed to facilitate overall growth. We offer courses in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research level with core areas of inquiry ranging from linguistics, literature, culture, media, etc.
The programmes offered at the department incorporate a number of special opportunities such as internships, club houses, supervisory research and writing. In order to promote interaction between students and academicians and media professionals, seminars, guest lectures and workshops are conducted on various subjects of literature and media at regular intervals.
